framed playing cards

Even though I have embraced the joy of upcycling playing cards and know I could redesign any beautiful card into something new and different, sometimes I just want to preserve the card as is because I adore the artwork on the card.

Occasionally, even the idea of a mat and frame seems too distracting. That’s when I use magnetic clear acrylic frames. Bonus: these see-through frames allow me to see both sides of the playing card anytime I want.

It took me a really long time to find the correct sizes. So, if you are looking for a clear frame to preserve a vintage playing card, here are the three sizes I use:

  • 3.5″ x 5″ Clear Acrylic Frame – This size is perfect for mini playing cards and works with some bridge size and poker size playing cards depending on your taste. Most mini playing cards will sit inside the magnets (which are metal / not see-through).
  • 4″ x 6″ Clear Acrylic Frame – This size is wide enough to ensure that the entire bridge size playing card (3.25″ x 5″) sits inside the magnets so that nothing obstructs your view of the playing card.
  • 5″ x 7″ Clear Acrylic Frame – This is the smallest size that fits a poker size playing card (3.5″ x 5″) inside the magnets.

By the way, pro tip to extend the life of your clear acrylic frame: twist the frame open. Do not pull the magnets apart in a straight line. Slide the magnets away from each other to ensure they stay within the clear acrylic frame as long as possible.

Looking for a framed Snoopy playing card or your favorite Las Vegas casino playing cards or member of the Rat Pack? Leave me a comment if you have something particular in mind. I have plenty more vintage playing cards in my collection that haven’t yet made it into a frame. Maybe I have the card you are looking for!
