Is Tarot Real? The Hunt for Proof in Texas Hold’em Poker

By

The year was 2020 and, like many who lost their job due to the pandemic, I had all the time in the world to think. I had begun to accept that I was seeing signs in the cards but was still baffled by the fact that it was happening while playing poker. Since I did and do believe the signs I see come from God (the omniscient one, Consciousness), I couldn’t wrap my brain around the idea that this spiritual ability had been revealed to help me profit. The thought that the Universe was sending signs that help me know what to do when playing poker felt beyond egotistical to imagine… yet I could not get it out of my head… and trusting my intuition on the felt indeed seemed to improve my game. Then, one day, a related idea hit me: what if the game of poker could be used to scientifically prove whether or not there are signs in the cards? The moment the question crossed my mind, I knew I had found my purpose.

It has taken me nearly four years to remember all I learned while studying Sociology in college, decide what data to track, and create the perfect tools, but… it is all happening now! I currently have three types of related research underway:

  1. Survey: Did this Card Speak to You? ~ For a bit over a year, my Fortune Telling Tiny Art Playing Cards have offered customers (and anyone who finds the ones that I leave around Las Vegas) the opportunity to take a brief survey about whether or not the card “spoke” to them. I’ll need quite a few more responses before I have a pile of data worth sharing, but… I have received responses which cover a variety of opinions. Data is being compiled.
  2. Quantitative Analysis: Last week I finally finalized my spreadsheet and started tracking how often the most transformative and luckiest card(s) appear in poker. In the end, we will be able to see the cold hard facts about whether or not these five cards appear more often than statistically expected during No Limit Texas Hold’em. We will also have the information needed to look for patterns in when and they appear. In the meantime, you can watch tarot poker hand analysis videos of the pro poker player moments I’ve been most intrigued by thus far on my YouTube channel.
  3. Self-Science Study: To experiment further, I’m keeping statistics on whether or not I successfully manifest the type of cards I ask for when dealing out Playable Hands (in addition to the quantitative analysis described above) while using the My Poker Game Journal (which I designed and published on Amazon last year). In these scenarios, I write the bet(s) that all players will make at each stage of the poker hand in my journal first, shuffle the cards while asking the deck to give me the winning hand and give my opponent(s) cards which make sense with the bets as pre-written, then deal… and record what happens… and analyze the poker hand. Long story short: there’s now officially far more at stake than what I win or lose on the felt. The meaning I see in the cards is itself on the line… because the ego boost of a big win is temporary, but replicable research lives on forever and the joy that comes from *knowing* that I’ll experience both is truly divine.
